ALL IS WELL NOW

Virendra Kumar Singh

I am thankful and grateful to Modi, Mulayam and Rahul as they together pulled me out from the abyss of political confusion. For quite some time I was worried about the lack of direction and purpose in Indian politics. Like many I too wondered if the era of liberalization leading eventually to globalization would also not mean the end of ideology. But I was wrong I would say now. I had naively forgotten that there could be a better alternative to democracy.

Let me confess that I find none other than these three leaders in India today who are genuinely keen to step out of the confines of liberal democracy. Modi is reported to have excavated the shining era of Ram Rajya from the debris of mythology and religious history to usher us in era of plenty and abundance. Not to be lagged behind, Rahul decoded a new wisdom recently while addressing the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). Throwing the burden of the party and government off, he declared in no uncertain terms that nothing but socialism would save the country from going to ruins. Standing at equidistance from both, Mulayam could see no difference between socialism and Ram Rajya. Socialist he thinks he has ever been, but what harm in trying Ram Rajya in Uttar Pradesh? Though he hasn’t resigned from the office of socialism; he has sought recommendation of a top Ramrajyavaadi to ensure acceptance and approval of his application for membership in the office of Ram Rajya.

Rahul has got it from his experiences that socialism to succeed in 21st century must have the blessing of te industrialists and businessmen. The old people-oriented socialism is a passé now. Only the rich have time and capacity to think through the full spectrum of poverty. They alone can pursue the issue of poverty with care and caution. The modern capitalists has shed away their exploitative teeth and youthful vigor. They will not bite and pounce upon the poor now as they have lost their old appetite and digestive capacity. They will not prey now because they have already preyed so much that they hate prey story.

Now, there is some more good news for us. Modi will now be sharing his vision and mission of Ram Rajya with members of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI). Here, he will share his past experiences with Ram Rajya and spell out the strategies to replicate the same at the national level. He, too, has realized that the improvised version of Ram Rajya cannot become a reality without the proactive support of commerce and industries. However, his concept of Ram Rajya is multi-faceted. He will ensure overhauling not only of economy but of society as well. He will test and demonstrate the efficacy and efficiency of his social engineering tool under the guidance of clean men like Togadia who are determined to cleanse all that stands dirty, polluting and wasteful. Though Togadia and his cohorts have already tested the super efficiency of their tool at a small scale, they will be given assignments to replicate the same at a much bigger scale. A beginning has already been made in the state of mini Ram Rajya Gujarat. Togadia has taken upon himself to set up branches of VHP in every village of Gujarat so that it can qualify to become a Hindu state by T20. Turning India into a Hindu state is a prerequisite to try hands at Ram Rajya.

The nation is at the doorstep of a new golden era. Welcome it; don’t get distracted by rumour-mongers. They are just dirt waiting to be blown off. What happened in Gujarat in 2002 will happen now everywhere. Forgiving the misdeeds of Rama-baiters would have been a historic blunder – as big a blunder as that of Babri Masjid. The Ram Rajya must have zero tolerance to anything that is seemingly injurious to the image of Lord Rama. In order to nullify the possibility of recurrence of Babri Masjid, an attempt will be made to teach culprits a hard lesson. Anything done or purported to be done for protecting the core value of Hinduism will be considered to have been done in the glory of god. After all violence at the altar of god is no violence at all. Hindus will not mind if the Muslims and Christians indulge in similar acts at place of their origin. But they will never be tolerated if they want parity with Hindus in Hindu India. No, the Hindus are not allergic to anyone; provided the ‘others’ show allegiance to our Hindu culture and deities.

It is thus clear that we, the people of India, will soon have the opportunity to test the fruits (may be sting?) of socialism or Ram Rajya. Indian politics has rediscovered its lost ideological or cultural mooring. We do not need democracy; it has served us no purpose. It is corrupting and demeaning. Let us bury the dead and move on.

Does the discussion on socialism and Ram Rajya as captured above send the shiver down your spine? If it does, be sure you are not dead. Don’t give any credence to the discredited political lumpens. Socialism does not meander through the streets of market; nor does it emanate from selective hatred and well organized pogrom. Capitalism is naked today; it is up to make use of everything – money, muscle, religion external support etc. to further its interest. A CII’s or FICCI’s invitation to our would-be PMs is not a matter of pride but of shame. We cannot afford to loose democracy, even if it exists only in semblance, for the sake of corporate socialism or mythical Ram Rajya.  Both are one and the same. We know for sure that all that is being talked about is not for us but for Ambanis, Tatas and Birlas. We can wait for the tide to subside at our own peril. If Modi is a curse, Rahul will be a disaster. Poor Mulayam too will sink with them. Sandwiched between the two, he cannot remain intact. He will certainly be crushed to dust.
